Jordan Cordina
Bio
I'm Jordan, a junior Level Designer based in the UK. Making games and pushing them to their limit is my passion, and I am 100% committed to great design.
A great player experience is at the heart of any great game. Creating fulfilling experiences - those moments of pure immersion - is the force behind all my creative ideas and hard work. |
In 2023 I worked as Quality Assurance Analyst at Team17, testing Headbangers: Rhythm Royale across PC and multiple console platforms. In my role I contributed to QA documentation, led testing with internal and external developers and have demonstrated an eye for detail. My daily responsibilities included: carrying out daily smoke test plans, regressing outstanding issues, communicating with internal developers to flag and explain critical issues, and participating in weekly playtests with external developers. I also had the pleasure of shadowing members of the Design and DevQA teams in their roles, giving me valuable insights into the responsibilities and day-to-day operations of their roles.
In late 2022 I graduated with a BA (Hons) Games Design and Production Degree from Abertay University and have gained a wide breadth of knowledge of different design disciplines gained from both personal and academic projects. My speciality is level design, though I can also offer valuable experience with playtesting and balancing, mechanics design, user experience and more. 'Quantum Quarrel' gave me an insight into the intricacies of multiplayer map design, while 'The Facility' cemented my approach to carefully crafting environments to allow players to intuitively find their way. I harness my combined level design and QA experience to design spaces with a critical eye, nipping potential issues in the bud.
I've experience working in multidisciplinary teams, and I'm adaptable - I'm happy to pitch in, work hard and get the job done. I've also a proven track record in leadership roles and am a great people person, which I leverage in my teams to ensure clear communication and vision. I fearlessly seek feedback and am keen to learn and grow alongside my peers, while offering my own unique perspective.
In my spare time I love to lose at pub quizzes, design homebrewed material and actively run Dungeons and Dragons sessions for friends. Photo restoration is another hobby of mine, using Photoshop to repair damage and breathe new life into old images. I'm also heavily invested in story-driven RPGs and FPS games, casual mobile games while on-the-go and playing party games with friends. I'm currently playing through Fallout: New Vegas and revisiting Rollercoaster Tycoon 2!
